"Los Arboles Tulum, our home for the past eleven years, is a sanctuary and the only self-sustainable community in Yucatán dedicated to preserving its jungle environment. Our neighbors include spider monkeys, vibrant birds, and emerald green lizards, with whom we actively work to maintain the beauty and integrity of this tropical forest community. Despite being just minutes from Tulum, our home offers complete peace and tranquility. We can enjoy what the city has to offer and then retreat to our jungle paradise.
Los Arboles Tulum is much more than just a collection of houses in the tropical forest; it is a genuine community where neighbors socialize and collaborate through our non-profit committee, reaching out beyond the community to support local initiatives. As the president of our non-profit organization for the past decade, I have overseen our support for a seven-year study on spider monkeys conducted by the University of Veracruz. Young biologists and scientists from around the world participating in this study have often been guests in our own home.
Our other noteworthy project is an after-school program focused on children in the nearby Maya community of Macario Gómez, where students learn English, engage in art, study sciences, and develop a sense of respect and responsibility for their environment.
Arboles is not just a community that generates its own electricity mostly through eco-friendly means like solar panels; it is a unique place where we ensure the jungle remains true to its natural state while enjoying the good life with friends and neighbors, whether in our expansive native forest spaces of nearly five acres per house, within our residences, or in the generous and spectacular community center with its specially designed cenote for recreation, multipurpose palapa, outdoor auditorium, and abundant recreational corners, along with ample and comfortable parking for all.
All this in a controlled access community with permanent surveillance on Highway 109, Tulum-Coba.
